Het Bereris Ensemble met een nieuwe CD: Sea in Common, beweegt zich tussen jazz en wereldmuziek en combineert Griekse en Turkse invloeden met improvisatie en een sterke melodische identiteit.

Sea in Common is the new album by Greek composer and pianist Yiorgos Bereris, to be released in April 2026. Born from travels across the Mediterranean and the Balkans, the music draws from shared organic soundscapes: sea and wind, city noise, festive gatherings, and the pulse of everyday life. It is equally inspired by encounters with people where no common language is spoken, yet communication happens anyway—through presence, rhythm, and shared emotion. Moving between jazz and world music, Sea in Common blends Greek and Turkish influences with improvisation and a strong melodic identity.

The core of the orchestration is a quartet including violin, viola, double bass, piano, and drums. Following his works Laros and Sigá y Silente, Bereris further establishes a strong composing style that defines his personal voice.
